This is a guess, but I'm guessing that they've been taken by whomever brought us here. When I woke in Sabra, it was the Judges process that had taken them, but I don't think this is Sabra. As to who, I don't have a guess as to who they are exactly, but I can guess that they probably have a lot of magic at their disposal.

It must be a great deal if they can do so much so precisely...

Sort of. I got the impression that it was less then it used to be, for the Judges.

Taking them all is easy. But myself and that boy each have one but of memory left. Both done in a way that omits our names.

Maybe this Judge or whoever it is is more deliberate.

Well, that I can't promise you. I can tell you a little bit more about Sabra? It might seem a little crazy.

In Sabra, each Blank woke up a part of a team to play in the Judge's games. Our reward, if we won, was the return of one of our memories. And if we survived, and followed the rules, eventually, a wish granted.

The games could get pretty dangerous, though. People died in them. But the Judges could bring people back to life.

Simple enough.

Some of the games could get pretty harsh and we'd get punished for not following the rules. So it's better to keep a ear open and pay attention. It could literally save your life.

I'm more concerned for the life of others...

Sometimes, saving everyone isn't possible.
