Well, they look like rocks! And when they die their shells aren't much more than rocks. But they're definitely teeny tiny sea creatures.

The shrine isn't very close to the sea, and I don't plan to leave even if I do live a long life, so I don't think I will. It's sad, now I'm a little curious!
